Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management (ADLTM) P rogramme Objectives
The programme aims at equipping students with managerial skills, knowledge and attitudes, which would enable them to effectively carry out the managerial functions of planning, organizing, directing, controlling and communicating. Graduates of this programme are expected to perform the task of middle level management positions in the Transport industry. The course duration is three years.
Minimum requirements for courses offered are as follows
Students aspiring for this programme should primarily have any of the following qualifications: - • Two Principal level passes at the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (A.C.S.E) in the relevant subjects, i.e. Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Geography or its equivalent. Pass in mathematics at A.C.S.E is a must, plus credits in Mathematics and English in the Certificate of Secondary Education (C.S.E.E) - Passes in religious subjects are not accepted. OR • Possession of a relevant Diploma or Full Technician Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering with at least B grade. • Mature Entry – one must be at least 25 years old. The aspirant must have completed Form IV with at least three credits and at least a pass in Mathematics and must pass mature entry examination.
Advanced Diploma in Freight Clearing and Forwarding (ADCFF)
Programme Objectives
The programme aims at equipping trainees with operational skills, knowledge and attitude which would enable them to effectively carry out the managerial functions related to freight clearing and forwarding. Graduates of this programme are expected to perform the tasks of middle level positions in the freight clearing and forwarding industry. The course duration is three years.
Aspiring students should primarily have any of the following qualifications:
Two principle passes at Advanced Level Certificate of Secondary Education (A.C.S.E) in relevant subjects i.e. Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Geography or its equivalent. Pass in Mathematics is a must plus credits in Mathematics and English in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.).
Possession of relevant Diploma with at least B grade.
Mature Entry – one must be at least 25 years old, and must pass mature entry examination. The aspirants must have completed Form IV with at least three credits and at least a pass in Mathematics.
Advanced Diploma in Automobile Engineering
Programme Objectives
The programmes for Advanced Diploma and Bachelor Degree in Automobile Engineering are exciting and specifically aim at providing students with the skills necessary to make an immediate impact in the Automotive Industry and related fields. These programmes,also, aim at producing highly trained graduates with skills in analysis, design, manufacturing and management to satisfy the Automotive and Transport Industry demand in Tanzania and beyond.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess Credits in Mathematics and Physics or Engineering Science in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E).
OR
Possession of at least D Passes in Mathematics and Physics or Engineering Science. Applicants would have to attend the Institute’s Access course and pass examination of the course.
OR
Possession of at least Division IV in the Certificate of Secondary Education (C.S.E.E.) with at least Trade Test Grade II (NVTA II) in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or Fitter and Turner. These applicants would have to attend a bridging course and pass examination of the course.
