Welcome to the Centre of Excellence in Aviation and Transport Operations. CoEATO strives to achieve the vision and mission of NIT by providing flexible and high-quality education and training, research and consultancy in the field specialty for sustainable socio-economic development. The Institute has established a Centre to train students in aviation and transport operations to enable Tanzania and other African countries to acquire highly skilled personnel in the transportation sector. CoEATO was established through the East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP). The World Bank financially supports the Project and it carries its operations within the framework of the School of Aviation and Department of Logistics and Transport Studies. The ultimate aim of EASTRIP was to establish and strengthen regional Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVET) Centres of Excellence. EASTRIP is implemented in three countries, namely, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania with the objectives of increasing access and improving the quality of TVET education.
