The Centre established on July 2015 at the National Institute of Transport (NIT) used as testing cite to ascertains quality of vehicles in all matters related to road worthiness and also used as training facility to train vehicle inspectors all over across the country. The Center plays a major role in improving issues related to road safety by ensuring that, the vehicles visit the Centre are well inspected and tested to comply with required vehicle standards and producing qualified and experienced vehicle inspectors in the country.

Inspection, Diagnosis and Testing: NIT-VIC inspects, diagnose and test all type of vehicles using modern and computerized machine available in the Centre by skilled personnel on all aspect of vehicle quality and safety. Various types of inspection is conducted such as initial or imported used vehicles inspection, modification or alteration inspection, renewal or periodic inspection and mandatory inspection.
Inspection is carried in all part and systems of the vehicle including:
- Tires
- Undercarriage
- Suspension system; driver’s assisted devices and safety controls etc.
- Diagnose engine
- Transmission and safety system
- Carrying out speed and brake
- Head lamp testing
- Emission testing
- Noise level and
- Wheel alignment measurements.
