The Faculty of Logistics and Business Studies (FoLBS) oversees the development and review of all academic programmes to ensure the efficient provision of quality education in logistics and business-related academic programmes. Our faculty is one of the largest at the Institute and has over 43 long-term academic programmes taught at NIT Mabibo Campuses attracting over 11000 students. We are the gurus in serving the transport sector with competent manpower through offering competence-based training as well as research and consultancy services in the areas of Logistics, Procurement, Marketing, Business Administration, Human Resources, and related disciplines. Our programmes are designed in line with current market needs, by considering the interdisciplinary nature of modes of transport (Road, Air, Water, Railway and Pipeline) to provide students with a broad understanding of transport operations and logistic processes.

The faculty uses highly qualified and committed staff, and modern technology to provide quality market-driven academic and professional training, research and consultancy in our areas of professionalism and expertise. Our graduates have recorded excellent employability attributes and most of them have ventured into different aspects of transport and logistics, across private and public sectors. They also found employment in supply chain, maritime, land transport, logistics, economics, marketing, public relations, human resource, accounting, finance, data analytics and aviation sectors. While a majority of them work for established companies including multinationals. Their aspirations are made possible through the Institute’s mode of training that equips students with competencies for self-employment and being employed; likewise, the Institute’s strong professional and industrial network takes graduates from the FoLBS closer to a wide range of professional opportunities.

The faculty has links to local professional boards such as the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA-T) and the Procurement and Supplies Professional and Technicians Board (PSPTB). Efforts are in place to ensure the faculty is a member of the Association of African Business Schools (AABS).
